Who We Really Are

Anchoring Your Legal Journey Through Time

Look, immigration law isn't just what we do - it's kinda personal for us. We've seen too many folks stuck in bureaucratic nightmares, waiting endlessly while their dreams sit on hold. That's exactly why we started Temporal Anchor back in 2018.

The name came from a late-night brainstorming session, actually. We wanted something that captured what we're really about - being that solid point of stability when everything feels uncertain and time-sensitive. Immigration processes can drag you through the mud, but we're here to keep you grounded and moving forward.

We've helped hundreds of families reunite, professionals land their dream jobs in Canada, and people fleeing difficult situations find safety here. Every case reminds us why we got into this field. It's not always easy, but man, when you see someone finally get that approval letter... there's nothing quite like it.

Meet the Founder

Sarah Chen

Sarah Chen, JD

Founder & Managing Partner

Sarah's not your typical lawyer, honestly. She came to Canada herself at age 12, so she gets what it's like navigating a new country and dealing with immigration stuff firsthand. That experience shaped everything about how she practices law today.

After graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2012, she spent a few years at a big downtown firm but quickly realized the corporate machine wasn't for her. People were just case numbers. She wanted to actually connect with clients, really understand their stories, y'know?

So she took the leap in 2018 and founded Temporal Anchor. The goal was simple - create a practice that treats people like people, moves fast when time matters, and doesn't hide behind legal jargon.

2012
Called to the Bar

Graduated from Osgoode Hall and started working at a major Toronto firm, focusing on corporate immigration.

2015
Immigration Law Certification

Became a certified specialist in immigration law - wanted to go deeper and really master this field.

2018
Founded Temporal Anchor

Opened the doors to our practice with one assistant and a whole lot of determination. Started with just a small office on King Street.

2021
Expanded the Team

Grew to 8 people total - brought on more lawyers and support staff to handle the growing caseload without losing that personal touch.

2024
Moved to Bay Street

Relocated to our current space - bigger office but same commitment to accessible, human-centered legal services.

The People Behind the Practice

We're a tight-knit group, honestly. Everyone here actually cares about the work we do, which makes all the difference when you're dealing with someone's future.

What We Stand For

These aren't just words on a wall - they're how we actually operate every single day.

We get it - immigration deadlines aren't flexible. When you've got a work permit expiring or a family member waiting, every day counts. That's why we prioritize urgent cases and respond quickly. You won't be waiting weeks for a callback from us.

We've built our whole practice around being responsive. Same-day consultations when possible, weekend work when needed, and we always keep you updated on where things stand.

You're not a file number here. We take time to actually understand your situation - what brought you to Canada, what you're hoping to build here, what keeps you up at night. Your story matters to us.

Some firms just crank through applications like an assembly line. Not our style. We limit our caseload so each client gets proper attention and we can do things right.

Legal stuff is confusing enough without lawyers making it worse with fancy jargon. We explain things in normal language. If there's a problem with your case, we'll tell you straight up - no sugar coating, but no unnecessary panic either.

We're honest about timelines, costs, and realistic outcomes. If we think something won't work, we'll say so and help you find a better path forward.

We're fast, but we're not sloppy. Immigration applications have zero room for errors - one mistake can mean months of delays or outright rejection. We triple-check everything before it goes out.

Our team stays current on all the policy changes, new regulations, and court decisions that might affect your case. Immigration law changes constantly and we make it our business to stay ahead of it.

Immigration cases are stressful. People are often dealing with separation from family, job uncertainty, or worse. We remember that and treat everyone with kindness and patience.

Whether you're a corporate executive or someone fleeing persecution, you deserve respect and quality legal help. We don't judge and we don't discriminate - everyone gets our best effort.

We quote you a price upfront and stick to it. No surprise bills down the line. We offer payment plans when needed because we know immigration costs add up fast between government fees and everything else.

Quality legal help shouldn't be just for the wealthy. We try to make our services accessible while still being able to pay our team fairly and do excellent work.

Our Space

We moved into this Bay Street location back in 2024. It's a nice spot - professional but not stuffy, comfortable meeting rooms, and way better coffee than our old place had.
